Position Overview As a Medical Courier Driver, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for transporting medical specimens from various locations to our laboratory facilities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of these specimens, which directly impact the lives of patients awaiting diagnosis and treatment.
Pay Rate $23.00 per hour. Mileage reimbursement also provided.
Responsibilities
Transport patient specimens and medical items from one location to another per customer request.
Load items into vehicle, drive to specified destinations, and unload items per company procedures.
Drive personal vehicle to transport medical items including specimen and supplies.
Load and unload medical items from vehicle and ensure specimens or supplies are properly maintained and safely secured based on specific company requirements.
Deliver items to correct destinations in a timely manner according to routing specifications.
Interact with customers and co-workers courteously and professionally.
Maintain accurate and legible delivery records and obtain customer signatures where applicable.
Communicate with dispatch and management when there are delays or delivery status changes.
Skills & Qualifications
Drive personal vehicle adhering to safety and efficiency guidelines.
HIPAA compliant at all times; training provided.
Knowledge of locating customer locations using GPS or a map.
Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and execute simple instructions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Time management and ability to complete daily tasks.
Strong work ethic, integrity, and high attention to detail.
Command of written and spoken English.
Valid CA Driver’s License.
Good driving record required.
Physical Standards
Employee must be able to walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift 25 pounds or more.
Frequent driving and getting in and out of the vehicle.
Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting 25 pounds or more.
Wearing appropriate attire and footwear that provides comfort and support while driving, bending, stooping, climbing.
Must be able to hear with specific vision abilities which include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
