Job Summary Clean dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, and utensils.

Duties and Responsibilities

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwashers or by hand.

Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.

Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.

Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.

Sweep and scrub floors.

Clean garbage cans with water or steam.

Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.

Set up banquet tables.

Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.

Support country club as needed.

Special projects as assigned by management.

Work Environment & Physical Demands The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to others and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to stand for long periods of time. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Must be able to bend and squat. Must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with customers and work in open area with other employees. Employee will come in contact with cutlery, graters, slicers, ranges, heat, chemicals and cleaning solvents as necessary.

Education & Experience High-school graduate or GED equivalent required; vocational school preferred. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the service industry required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Good customer contact skills. Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person and by telephone. Excellent oral communication skills as well as memorization skills in retaining information. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.
