Job Description The primary responsibility of the Auto Body Technician is to assess and repair vehicles to pre‑accident condition, ensuring high quality and speed while representing Gerber and The Boyd Group faithfully.
Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
Use dent repair techniques, including hand‑hammering and filler resin application, to eliminate minor body damage.
Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
Replace or repair interior components as needed.
Weld and fit parts, then repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or equivalent paint.
Aim to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and verify all work by inspecting finished vehicles.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills/Abilities
Read job orders and work independently with minimal supervision.
Collaborate effectively with other repairers within the shop.
Understand methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
Proficient in using necessary tools for the trade.
Other Requirements
Work safely in a noisy area with strong odors.
Lift up to 30 pounds when required.
Visually inspect vehicle damage under various weather conditions.
Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation $22 – $28 per hour, flat rate, based on total hours billed. If total compensation in a pay period falls below minimum wage, hours will be calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage.
