The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience by meticulously assessing and repairing each vehicle to its pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles the vehicle while upholding the company’s promise of speed, quality and customer excellence. The role supports the repair facility’s KPIs and acts as a dedicated Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group. Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers. Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections. Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; apply filler resins when necessary. Realign vehicle chassis and frames to correct structural damage. Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; repair or replace glass and windshields as required. Repair or replace interior parts as needed. Weld and fit parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or equivalent. Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure accuracy. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. Required Skills and Abilities
Read job orders and work with minimal supervision. Collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop. Understand repair methods and procedures for vehicle bodies. Use trade tools effectively. Other Physical Requirements
Work safely in a noisy area with strong odors. Lift up to 30 pounds at times. Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions. Perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting for repairs and inspections. Benefits
