Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties. They are knowledgeable in each product area or department, help determine methods and approaches needed to accomplish store goals, promote sales and promotions, and serve as ambassadors of Hibbett, creating unique customer experiences to acquire and retain customers. They assume supervisory control in the Manager's absence and are trained in managerial responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in controlling the assets of Hibbett.
Consult to establish action plans for sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume responsibility for the entire store during the Manager’s absence.
Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
Direct staff to meet departmental responsibilities and standards.
Keep Manager informed of inventory movement and customer trends.
Maintain quality customer service.
Perform general administrative duties and be trained on Manager responsibilities.
Deliver extraordinary customer service per the customer service manual, assisting customers entering the store and during peak periods.
Promote and sell company services and merchandise.
Uphold Hibbett, City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in various manuals.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures, reporting fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, assigning and directing work, and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
1–3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and meet overall goals and profits.
Self-starter with initiative to take on tasks independently.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
