Job Summary
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. The role requires knowledge of all product areas and departments, strong customer service skills, and the ability to supervise staff in the manager’s absence. The Manager in Training promotes sales and merchandise, provides guidance to employees and customers, and maintains the visual and merchandising standards of the store.

Reports To Store Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling store assets.
Consult with the manager in establishing action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume full responsibility for the store in the manager’s absence.
Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
Direct staff to ensure department standards and responsibilities are completed.
Communicate inventory movement and customer trends to the manager.
Maintain high-quality customer service throughout the store.
Perform general administrative duties as needed and be trained in manager responsibilities.
Deliver extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual during peak periods.
Promote and sell Hibbett merchandise and services.
Uphold all Hibbett policies, procedures, and standards as listed in operational, personnel, visual, customer service manuals and memos.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective; report potential fraud risk to management or appropriate officials.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise employees in the manager’s absence; carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
1‑3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
