The Episcopal Academy seeks a dependable, detail-oriented grounds professional to join our Facilities and Operations team. This role is responsible for the routine care and maintenance of our campus's diverse plantings, turfgrass, athletic fields, and overall landscape, ensuring a pristine and inviting environment for the entire community.

Responsibilities

Plant, maintain, and care for turfgrass, lawns, athletic fields, trees, shrubs, and flower beds.

Mow, edge, seed, sod, water, spray, fertilize and cultivate landscaped areas.

Perform grading and field preparation as needed.

Trim hedges and maintain plantings to campus standards.

Rake, collect, and dispose of leaves, debris, and other organic materials.

Clean and care for tools and equipment, and operate mowers and other grounds equipment.

Assist with athletic field preparation and maintenance, stormwater management system maintenance, and snow removal, including shoveling, salting, sanding, and operation of snow removal vehicles and equipment. (Requires 24‑hour on‑call availability during inclement weather.)

About You

Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletic field maintenance preferred.

Ability to safely operate light and medium‑weight vehicles and grounds equipment.

Physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier loads using assistance.

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Reliable, safety‑minded, and able to respond to on‑call needs and emergency situations.

Committed to contributing positively to a collaborative, mission‑driven school community.
