Responsibilities
Teach several French courses for students in grades 9-12 across various proficiency levels.
Develop lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
Provide conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
Teach French writing and composition courses.
Design a student-centered classroom that promotes collaboration and active engagement.
Conduct research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
Schedule and prepare students for oral and written examinations.
Assist in residential life duties including community‑building events, enforcing housing policies, addressing student concerns, and fostering a safe and inclusive living environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or related required. Master’s degree preferred.
Fluency in French required.
2-3 years of previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
No teaching license or credential is required.
Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
Well‑organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Involvement outside of the classroom by helping with coaching, leading extra‑curricular activities, or community service activities.
Additional Qualities
Ability to teach both French and Spanish.
