AM Aquatic Group Exercise Instructor
Location: Clippard Family YMCA, Cincinnati, OH.
Position: Part-time, hourly.
Salary: $13.00/hr.
Pay Range: $13.00/hr - $13.00/hr (provided by YMCA of Greater Cincinnati). Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
The AM Aquatic Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for leading engaging aquatic group exercise classes during morning hours at the Clippard Family YMCA. This role involves creating a safe, fun, and motivating environment for participants of all fitness levels, promoting health and wellness through water-based fitness programs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and instruct a variety of aquatic group exercise classes, including but not limited to water aerobics, aqua Zumba, and therapeutic aquatic workouts.
Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and monitoring class activities.
Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate different fitness levels and physical abilities.
Engage and motivate participants to achieve their fitness goals and maintain regular attendance.
Maintain a clean and organized pool area and equipment.
Collaborate with YMCA staff to promote aquatic programs and support overall wellness initiatives.
Stay current with aquatic fitness trends, certifications, and best practices.
Qualifications
Current certification in Group Aquatic Exercise Instructor (e.g., AEA, ACE, or equivalent).
CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
Previous experience teaching aquatic group exercise classes preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire participants of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.
Work Schedule Morning shifts primarily, with flexibility as needed to cover classes and special events.
