Middle School Substitute Spanish Teacher MICDS is seeking a Middle School Substitute Spanish Teacher. The substitute will execute lessons provided by the classroom teacher and manage other duties as specified. The ideal candidate will have Spanish teaching experience and as well as familiarity with a 1:1 laptop environment. The candidate should bring a collaborative nature and a student-centered approach to the classroom, as well as a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students in accordance with school policies.
Oversees and manages the routines and materials as directed by the classroom teacher.
Complies with and supports school regulations and policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the department chair or division director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in subject matter preferred.
Teaching experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work in an environment that embraces a diverse community of students, educators, parents, and alums.
Experience working in a one-to-one laptop environment or relevant technology skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must enjoy working and learning with children.
OTHER INFORMATION
A criminal history and background check is required and must be successfully completed prior to employment.
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment.
Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
