Position Summary Villanova University, in collaboration with the North Penn School District, is launching an Afterschool Artificial Intelligence (AI) Club at local elementary schools as part of an NSF-supported outreach initiative. The club will run January 2026 – June 2026, meeting two to three afternoons per week after school in Lansdale, PA. We are seeking K–12 teachers to serve as mentors and facilitators for the Afterschool AI Club. Teacher mentors will work alongside Villanova faculty and AI experts to plan and co‑lead engaging, age‑appropriate learning activities.
Responsibilities
Co‑develop and facilitate after‑school AI Club sessions (two to three afternoons per week).
Collaborate with Villanova faculty and AI experts to adapt materials for age‑appropriate learning.
Provide classroom management and guidance to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Support student teams in project planning, documentation, and presentation development.
Participate in planning and reflection meetings with mentors and the PI.
Assist with the organization of a local AI Showcase and related outreach events.
Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Current K–12 teacher in the North Penn School District or surrounding area.
Demonstrated experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Availability for after‑school hours (typically between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.) two to three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in after‑school or enrichment program facilitation.
Interest in STEM or technology integration in the classroom.
Openness to learning about Artificial Intelligence and integrating related concepts into teaching practice.
Salary $30.93 – $32.64 per hour.
