Are you a qualified secondary teacher with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs? We are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Islington who are seeking a dedicated
SEN Teacher
to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This role is to cover long-term sickness and would suit a teacher confident in delivering
English, Maths and/or Science
to students with special educational needs, while creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.

The Role
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in
English, Maths or Science , tailored to individual learning needs
Support students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs
Adapt the secondary curriculum to ensure accessibility and progress for all learners
Create a positive, structured classroom environment where students feel safe and motivated
Monitor and assess progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
Work closely with TAs, SENCOs, pastoral teams and external professionals
Contribute to EHCP targets, reviews and support plans
Promote inclusion, independence and positive behaviour
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- essential
Experience teaching
English, Maths and/or Science
at secondary level
Experience working with students with SEN (school-based or specialist setting desirable)
A patient, flexible and resilient approach to teaching
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
