Morning Fitness Attendant- Delaware YMCA (Transportation) The Fitness Attendant plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging wellness environment for both new and existing members. This role invites members into the wellness experience through scheduled equipment orientations, wellness area walkthroughs, and authentic, service-driven engagement. The Fitness Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of all fitness areas and equipment, while consistently reinforcing facility rules and guidelines to ensure a positive member experience.
This position works an early morning schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., supporting members during peak morning wellness hours.
Key Responsibilities
Think, communicate, and behave as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members regarding desired staff behaviors and healthy living practices.
Ensure that all Wellness areas (i.e., main equipment floor, studios) are clean, orderly, welcoming, and adequately stocked to provide for members’ needs.
Recognize and communicate efficiently with branch leaders and members when equipment is not in proper working order and report any additional safety concerns immediately.
Make members feel welcome by learning and using their names; assist members by finding answers to their questions.
Help members connect with one another to form friendships.
Scan membership cards of all entering the building; greet members by name and grant access to the facility.
Provide information about the Y (including membership, program, facility, services, financial assistance, etc.) to callers, guests, and members.
Assist branch leadership team in daily activities and special events as needed.
Attend all training and staff meetings as required.
Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations.
