Reports To Transit Operations Supervisor
Compensation and Benefits Annual minimum salary of $45,261 plus a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Responsibilities
Perform thorough pre-trip inspections and report any defects.
Pick up, transport, and discharge passengers per established procedures.
Assist passengers boarding or disembarking when requested.
Maintain order and discipline among transit passengers.
Ensure proper collection of fares or other payment media.
Adhere to prescribed routes and schedules to the extent possible.
Provide high-quality passenger relations at all times.
Maintain a working knowledge of bus schedules and routes.
Produce required reports accurately and timely.
Supplement demand-response driver positions when needed.
Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of commercial transit vehicle operation and traffic laws.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Dependable and able to establish effective working relationships with associates and the public.
Subject to substance abuse screenings under federal regulations.
Education and Experience
High school graduation or equivalent.
Considerable experience operating motorized equipment.
Good customer relations skills.
Physical Requirements Light work requiring up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently; occasional 50-pound force tasks; frequent 20-pound force tasks. Tasks include reaching, pushing, fingering, repetitive motions, and voice communication. Visual, hearing, and vision acuity are required. Work may be performed in varied environmental conditions.
Special Requirements
Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and passenger endorsements.
If not holding a Class B license at hire, must obtain a learner’s permit within 60 days and a Class B license within 6 months.
