Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Assigned to Durham Manufacturing facility.
Responsibility for work of others: None
Business Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and managers.
Supervision Required: Limited supervision.
Travel Required: None
Key Responsibilities
Keep assigned building interiors clean and orderly; perform variety of custodial and minor building maintenance duties as assigned.
Sweep, scrub, and mop floors.
Strip, wax, buff, and seal floors as directed.
Vacuum and clean rugs.
Clean bathrooms, walls, fountains, windows, and replenish supplies.
Empty trash bins for all manufacturing departments and keep all areas clear and clean.
Report necessary repairs to supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department.
Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Training & Specialized Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of janitorial methods, materials, equipment; ability to perform manual tasks; follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; maintain good working relationships.
Experience:
One year experience in janitorial or light building maintenance; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
