Pickleball Instructor

Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Tennis, the Pickleball Coach is responsible for all pickleball activities as assigned and directed by the Club’s management. The Coach must achieve personal revenue goals each month while providing the best customer service and hospitality to all members and guests.
Primary Job Functions
Promote and teach pickleball clinics, private lessons, and adult/junior/senior programs, and tournaments (both in-house and open to non-members) as assigned by the Director of Tennis.
Organize and maintain the daily teaching schedule, including private and group lessons.
Achieve personal revenue goals.
Provide new member pickleball orientations and evaluations, along with an introduction to the facility and its programming.
Notify and encourage members to participate in the Club’s pickleball events.
Attend Tennis/Pickleball Department staff meetings, General Staff Meeting, or Associate Orientations as directed by Club Management.
When schedule permits, be available for other job functions throughout the Club in emergency situations.
Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and responsive follow‑through.
Be on time for all scheduled appointments.
Maintain accurate, current records on all client exercise programs and progress.
Keep track of each client’s sessions and fee payments.
Enforce all tennis/pickleball department and club policies.
Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the tennis/pickleball area and keep the teaching court in a professional manner, ensuring a safe environment.
Accurately record each day worked, the time worked, and client sessions in the appropriate tracking system.
Corporate Goals & Objectives
Promote the company’s safety goals and actively work toward ensuring a safe working environment.
Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Actively pursue corporate objectives and continuously support improvement and positive change.

Assist with special club projects, events, and promotions.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education
Sales and Marketing: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services, including marketing strategy and sales techniques.
Problem Anticipation / Deductive Reasoning: Ability to identify potential problems and apply reasoning to produce sensible solutions.
Written Comprehension and Expression: Ability to read, understand, and communicate information effectively in writing.
Oral Comprehension and Expression: Ability to understand and communicate verbally.
Computer: Ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel, and other software required by TBCC.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent customer service attitude and abilities.
Minimum two (2) years of professional experience (including college and/or elite professional competition and exposure).
Current CPR/AED certification.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Location changes frequently from indoors to outdoors.
Work performed outdoors in varying and occasionally extreme (hot) weather conditions.
Must arrive on time for all scheduled work shifts. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to adjust to changes in the work environment.
Position requires public contact.
Deals with outside personnel such as clients on a regular basis via in person, phone, and email.
Sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people and problem‑solve difficult situations.
Requires frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
Involves frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and stretching.
Must occasionally walk around the facility and talk, hear, and play competitive tennis or practice sessions regularly.
Requires specific vision abilities (close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
