Position Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for collecting cannabis samples from client locations—including cultivation facilities, dispensaries, and manufacturing sites—in compliance with all applicable state regulations and company SOPs. This role ensures that samples are collected, documented, and transported with the highest level of care and integrity. Field Technicians serve as professional representatives of the laboratory, providing excellent client service while maintaining strict chain-of-custody procedures and supporting the operational needs of the lab.
Key Responsibilities Primary Duties
Travel to client locations to collect cannabis samples.
Follow all state regulations and company SOPs during sample collection.
Maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation for all samples.
Handle samples to prevent contamination, degradation, or loss of integrity.
Accurately record sample collection details using mobile data entry systems.
Provide professional, courteous service to clients and address basic sampling inquiries.
Logistics & Equipment
Safely transport samples to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage and labeling during transit.
Maintain and clean field sampling equipment, ensuring it remains in good working condition.
Coordinate scheduling with the Field Operations Manager to prioritize sampling trips based on client needs and lab capacity.
Operational & Compliance Support
Uphold OSHA standards, company SOPs, and applicable safety protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance.
Support other field or laboratory tasks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in fieldwork, logistics, or regulated industry preferred.
Cannabis industry or compliance-related experience is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Proficient in mobile data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.
Requirements
Must meet the minimum legal age requirement to work with cannabis in the state of operation.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check in accordance with applicable laws.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
Working Conditions
Frequent travel to client sites, including remote or outdoor environments.
Exposure to varying weather conditions.
Flexible schedule with potential early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
