Major Position Duties:
Because students rely on paraprofessionals to provide support services, the primary responsibility for paraprofessionals is to have prompt daily attendance and a caring disposition so that the major position duties can be consistently completed:
Academic assistance with student work, including but not limited to:
Understanding and following directions
Demonstrating and modeling processes
Providing support and encouragement
Goal setting and tracking
Behavioral supervision and support for students who demonstrate difficulties with self‑regulation and/or appropriate social skills
Individual, small group, and large group student supervision, including but not limited to:
Lunchroom supervision
Student work time supervision
Escorting students to and from classrooms and other school locations
Supports for teaching staff to ensure efficient and effective program operations, including but not limited to:
Laminating materials
Duplicating materials
Filing materials
Other duties assigned by the principal or designee, such as attendance at staff meetings, preparing and sending mail correspondence, or assisting with field trips
Qualifications / Requirements:
Associates Degree, 64 College Credits, or Passing Score on Approved Para Test
CPI Training, First Aid, and CPR Training
Previous experience working with students identified with developmental delays or disabilities is preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Good communication, computer, and organizational skills
Cooperative attitude and ability to take direction
Willingness to assist where needed
Ability to establish good working relationships and b
Salary and Benefit Range: Under MSEA PARA III Salary Starting Range of $23.84 - $24.52 per hour based on experience (maximum of 3 years' experience credit given). Benefit
