SICEA Full-time Tenure Track Social Science Instructor
Description
Southeastern Illinois College is seeking a full-time, tenure‑track Social Science Instructor to join our Humanities and Social Science Division. This position will primarily teach courses in history and political science, including American Government, beginning Fall 2026. We are looking for a dynamic, student‑focused educator who values collaboration, innovation, and student success.
Responsibilities
Teach history and political science (HIST/GOVT) courses in multiple formats (traditional, online, hybrid)
Maintain contractual teaching load and office hours
Support student success through mentoring and engagement
Collaborate on dual credit development and program initiatives
Participate in committees, campus events, and division activities
Qualifications
Master’s degree in history and/or political science, OR master’s with 18 graduate hours in both fields
Prior teaching experience
Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
Commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on the SICEA Salary Schedule.
