Food Service Supervisor II – CASWELL DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER

We’re looking for a leader to manage food service activities and maintain sanitation standards as defined by the NC Food Code in a moderate scale operation.
Work Location and Hours Location: Dietary Department | Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
Supervise food preparation, food/supplies procurement and storage, service employees, and record keeping.
Manage employees: hiring, performance planning and evaluation, training, discipline, and scheduling.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lb.
Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in a moderate scale food service operation.
Considerable knowledge of the dietary requirements for a variety of therapeutic diets and diet textures.
Ability to develop and use standardized recipes.
Ability to estimate food quantities to supply the number of persons to be served.
Considerable knowledge of procurement and inventory of food and supplies.
Ability to evaluate and correct sanitation and food safety practices as set in the NC Food Code.
Considerable knowledge of management principles related to supervision of employees.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of employees.
Knowledgeable in food service software.
Management Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, food management, or hospitality management from an appropriately accredited institution.
Two years of food service supervision experience.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in dietetics, food management, culinary arts, or hospitality management from an appropriately accredited institution; or high school (GED) with four years of supervisory experience in the preparation and serving of food in quantity lots; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
