Overview Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, and serve food to guests according to the resort’s food and beverage specifications in a courteous and efficient manner. Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the restaurant area and equipment, providing the highest levels of service and professionalism. Perform all duties and adhere to the Food & Beverage Service Standards.

Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction.

Be familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions to assist guests.

Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.

Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, acknowledge all guests, resolve complaints, and ensure satisfaction.

Take guest food & beverage orders using suggestive upselling techniques.

Answer guest questions about food, beverages, and facilities accurately and in a friendly manner, providing the highest level of service.

Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.

Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.

Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables to the dishwashing area.

Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.

Plan, organize, and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.

Plan bar menus.

Create drink recipes.

Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies; keep bank secure at all times.

Present guests’ checks and process payments, adhering to cash handling and credit policies/procedures; balance cash receipts.

Order or requisition liquors and supplies.

Develop relationships with guests.

Communicate with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

Maintain professional relationships with all co‑workers.

Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure satisfaction.

Answer outlet phone using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.

Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.

Prepare work area for opening, mid‑shift, or closing in accordance with company standards; complete side work during non‑busy hours.

Clean bars, work areas, tables, glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.

Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas with proper food handling.

Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Keep complete knowledge of all food & beverage menu items, including liquor brands, beers, and non‑alcoholic selections.

Follow all department policies, service procedures, and standards.

Serve alcoholic beverages appropriately in line with company standards.

Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, especially those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated guests, and drunk driving.

Mitigate liability related to excessive drinking by persuading customers to stop, arranging taxis, or providing other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

Maintain regular attendance in conformance with hotel & resort standards.

Continuously expand knowledge of food, beverages, and related products and services.

Perform related tasks and functions as requested by manager.

Additional supportive functions may be required, with time allocation determined by manager based on hotel needs.

Qualifications

At least 18 years old.

Excellent people skills and outgoing personality.

Team player.

Current state alcohol serving permit.

Flexible to work shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs; move up to 150 lbs with wheeled assistance.

Capable of standing, walking, lifting, and bending for long periods.

Demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule.

Service‑oriented with a positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of helping others.

Quick on feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly.

Computer literate.

Ability to handle criticism.

Must pass pre‑employment background check.

Minimum 2 years Food & Beverage experience required, preferably as Bartender.

High school diploma preferred; equivalent education/training acceptable.

Ability to obtain Food Service Sanitation certification.

First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance (specific standards available).
