Osakana East Village
Osakana is a specialty Japanese fish market and to-go sushi shop located in the heart of the East Village. We are dedicated to offering high-quality seafood and thoughtfully prepared sushi, while delivering warm, reliable service to our community. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented team members who take pride in their work and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with basic fish handling, including trimming, portioning, and packaging.
Support the preparation and assembly of to-go sushi items (rolls, donburi, sashimi packs, etc.).
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas.
Provide friendly and professional customer service at the counter.
Operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Restock display cases and assist with inventory and product rotation.
Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
Follow store procedures, food safety protocols, and daily operational checklists.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
Qualifications Required
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
High standard of hygiene and food safety awareness.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred
Experience in seafood handling, fish markets, or food service.
Basic knife skills or kitchen prep experience.
Customer service or retail experience.
English and/or Japanese communication ability.
Interest in Japanese cuisine or seafood.
