As an MS Daily Substitute Teacher you will enable children to pursue their education smoothly and completely in the absence of the regular teacher.

How You Will Impact Education

Review the plan and schedule with the principal, supervisor or designated teacher to follow during the teaching day.

Deliver lessons prepared by the absent teacher.

Report in writing the day's activities at the conclusion of each day and provide further feedback as requested by the building principal.

Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules and procedures applicable to regular teachers and standard teaching practice.

Consult with the building principal and/or supervisor before initiating any lesson or other procedure not specified in the teacher’s plans.

Student Management

Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which you are assigned.

Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and at other times during the school day as requested.

Maintain appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day for assigned students.

School/Community Relations

Maintain good relations with the faculty and staff of the district.

Treat information about students and staff with utmost confidence.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.

Work and interact with staff and relate to individuals at all levels of the organization; be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the public image.

Time management – prioritize, organize and schedule.

Computer basics – Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Communication – oral (including presentations), written, interpersonal (active listening) and negotiating.

Job Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

Completion of the district’s Substitute Workshop.

Commitment to company values.

Work Environment

Usual school working conditions.

May be noisy during high student traffic.

Physical Demands

No physical exertion required.

Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

FLSA Overtime Category Job is non‑exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
