Position Summary In this position, the employee will inspect all incoming as well as outgoing cargo and/or equipment (i.e. container, chassis, and refrigerated units, etc.) and enter the necessary information into the hand‑held computers. The role also includes cross‑training and floating between the TIR and Vehicle Receiving departments. In Vehicle Receiving, the employee will inspect all incoming vehicles (trucks, cars, buses, etc.) and enter information into the tablet, drive the vehicle to the staging area, and load onto the appropriate equipment for transfer (specialized containers, car racks, flat racks). Vehicles may include cars, trucks, and buses. The employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Qualifications Required
Minimum one (1) year experience working as a receiving in an industrial environment such as a warehouse or marine terminal processing cargo and/or vehicles.
A valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a Basic level.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Must possess strong communications skills.
Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
Must be able to perform assignments safely and efficiently in various roles and departments.
Ability to obtain internal forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, as needed.
Ability to work with limited supervision and strong initiative.
Ability to work in high paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
Ability to think logically and make sound decisions.
Organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
Preferred
Familiarity with vehicle components.
Data entry experience.
Experience handling hazardous cargo documentation.
Experience operating a forklift at OSHA standards.
Duties and Responsibilities Primary – TIR Department
Visual inspection of trucks and equipment for mechanical and structural deficiencies or damage (e.g., tail lights, indicator lights, tires, mud flaps, reflectors, license plates, annual inspection stickers, and container integrity).
Interior inspection of empty containers and recording discrepancies or damages on the hand‑held computer.
Verification of the TIR release from the driver for accuracy, signing the release, and examination of scale receipts, bookings, equipment numbers, chassis numbers, reflectors, and seals on outgoing or loaded containers.
Minor repairs such as replacing crank handles for landing gear, affixing tape over small tears, installing necessary placards, removing or spraying over unnecessary placards, and replacing expired license plates.
Other related duties as assigned.
Secondary – TIR Department
Miscellaneous office duties such as preparing documentation and sending interoffice envelopes with daily transaction documents for different divisions at the main office.
Maintenance of a clean work area free of debris or safety hazards.
Carrying boxes of container seals to replenish supply as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
Primary – Vehicle Receiving Department
Responsible for receiving transporters and providing assistance during the check‑in process.
Verification of booking number before receiving vehicles and/or cargo to ensure accuracy.
Contact with supervisors and/or the Dispatch department to inform and resolve discrepancies with the booking.
Inspection of all incoming vehicles and recording discrepancies or damages on the Vehicle Dock Receipt and tablet.
Documentation of date received, booking number, serial number, and D/R number.
Loading/driving of the vehicle into the container/car racks and setting up ramps and straps to secure vehicles within the racks.
Other related duties as assigned.
Secondary – Vehicle Receiving Department
Operation of a forklift to maneuver inoperable vehicles to staging areas and set up ramps.
Setup of containers/car racks, opening gates, staging straps, and securing cars with straps; preparation for vehicle malfunctions such as dead batteries or parts.
Responsibility for identifying and placing Tag Flag (color‑coded) to label vehicles by address location.
Maintenance of a clean work area free of debris or safety hazards.
Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements The employee is continuously required to walk, stand, grasp, reach forward, talk, use repetitive foot and wrist motions, and perform eye‑hand coordination. The employee must use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently twists, bends forward, climbs, squats, reaches overhead, and utilizes eye‑hand‑foot coordination and finger dexterity. The employee frequently lifts/carries up to 5 lb, pushes up to 10 lb, and pulls up to 50 lb. Occasionally the employee sits, kneels, crawls, balances, or lifts/carries up to 30 lb. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements
Report safety hazards.
Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage.
Wear appropriate PPE as instructed by the supervisor.
Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules.
Refuse any unsafe tasks or operation.

Exposure to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts.
Occasional work near moving mechanical parts.
Continuous work near moving vehicles (cars, trucks, etc.).
Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
Moderate to high noise volume; the noise level is usually moderate to noisy.
Drive automated vehicle, low to moderate vibration.
