Position Summary Manually unloads containers and stages them in the proper area, operates forklift, and moves cargo from warehouse staging area to containers. Receives, scans, verifies cargo quantities based on customer requirements. Identifies and transports cargo to and from warehouse into containers. Performs essential duties to the satisfaction of the role. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

Qualifications Required

Minimum of six (6) months recent, hands‑on warehouse experience involving operational tasks.

Experience operating a forklift per OSHA standards; company will provide authorization to operate heavy equipment.

Basic English understanding.

Accurate alpha/numeric information processing.

Flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.

Organizational and time management skills.

Effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.

Logical thinking, procedure following, and sound decision making.

Preferred

High School diploma or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities Primary

Operate forklift to move cargo from warehouse staging area and fill containers continuously.

Set up pallets in staging area, completing shipments using forklift.

Manually pick and pull items from racks based on pick tickets or loading guides.

Receive, scan, and verify cargo quantities per company procedures and customer requirements.

Transport cargo to and from the warehouse into containers, palletize, scan, and wrap manually.

Utilize forklift to move palletized cargo to final staging area.

Load and unload containers and delivery trucks manually or with lift/dolly, verify cargo by weighing, counting, and documenting.

Inform supervisor immediately of discrepancies, damages, or spoiled cargo.

Convey materials from receiving areas to storage or designated areas.

Ensure cargo is loaded in appropriate container or trailer.

Obtain boxes for repackaging items and labeling.

Check and arrange for regular forklift maintenance.

Change propane tanks, oil, and water; report electrical and/or mechanical difficulties to mechanic.

Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid collisions.

Secondary

Obtain work assignments; determine if additional tools required.

Mark materials with identifying information.

Place cargo in corresponding area for port destination.

Remove empty skids or pallets and stack for future usage.

Sweep work area for cleanliness as needed.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Subjection to physical and/or DOT screening may be required.

Frequent sitting while operating forklift, intermittent.

Frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching forward, repetitive foot, wrist motion, finger dexterity.

Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds, occasionally pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

Continuous grasping, eye‑hand coordination, eye‑hand‑foot coordination.

Occasional climbing, bending forward, squatting, reaching overhead, pinching.

Frequent talking and hearing.

Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.

Safety Requirements

Report safety hazards.

Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage.

Wear appropriate PPE as instructed.

Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Refuse unsafe task or operation.

Participate in safety meetings and training.

Be constantly aware of personal safety and that of coworkers.

Supervision Received and Exercised Reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Warehouse Manager. Does not exercise supervision over any position.

Conditions

Exposure to extreme heat, rain, wind, and high humidity during day and night shifts.

Occasional work near moving mechanical parts.

Continuous exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Moderate to high noise level.

Moderate vibration during forklift operation.
