CDL Swing Garbage Truck Drivers
Location: Gloucester, NJ
Compensation: $28.80 per hour; full benefits packet with paid time off.
Hours: Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday; early start at 4:30 a.m.; steady year‑round work.
Responsibilities
Safely operate front load, side load, or rear loading trucks for garbage pickup and transport to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility.
Make one or more trips during each shift and adhere to route schedules.
Handle manual and automatic trucks; repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs.
Conduct pre‑ and post‑inspection of vehicles and ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
Navigate congested communities and confined areas; perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
Ride in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
Qualifications
21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
At least 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
Excellent safety record and clean motor vehicle record.
Great knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
Proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing).
Ability to read and understand maps.
Physical fitness to meet the demands of the position.
Willingness to work required hours, including weekends, nights, holidays as permitted by DOT regulation.
Experience as a driver or helper for a waste recycling company is highly preferred.
