Job Description A Level I Application Processing Clerk assists the New Account Processing department by entering merchant information into the computer system. The position requires analysis and decision‑making regarding potential merchants’ businesses and applications, as well as efficient data entry.

Prepares and sorts source documents, identifying and interpreting data to be entered.

Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer networks according to on‑screen format and enters necessary codes.

Compares entered data with source documents or re‑enters data in verification format to detect errors.

Makes necessary corrections to information entered.

Transmits entered information into the database.

Indexes, copies, and routes source documents after entry to various departments (e.g., leasing, credit).

Responds to inquiries regarding entered data.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Sound accuracy record in prior data entry work.

Excellent computer skills, including MS Word.

Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.

1–2 years of application processing or similar experience.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Excellent attendance record.

Works efficiently with minimal guidance or supervision.
