Looking for the best summer job you’ll ever have? At Tamarack Day Camp, being a lifeguard is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to play a vital role in keeping campers safe while being part of an energetic, supportive camp community. Our lifeguards are essential members of the Tamarack team. You’ll help ensure a safe, fun, and well‑supervised aquatic environment while building responsibility, leadership, and lifesaving skills that last a lifetime. Required Commitment
To be employed as a Lifeguard at Tamarack Day Camp, you must be available for all 39 days of camp: June 29th – August 21st. Monday through Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. No weekends. If you are unable to commit to the entire camp season, this position will not be the right fit. Position Responsibilities
Maintain constant supervision of swimmers during all pool activities Enforce pool rules and safety procedures at all times Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies Assist with swim instruction and water‑based activities as needed Work collaboratively with the pool director and camp leadership Serve as a positive role model to campers and staff Certification Provided
Lifeguard certification will be provided by Tamarack Day Camp upon being hired Training includes CPR, First Aid, and all required lifeguarding skills Candidates MUST be willing and able to successfully complete certification prior to the start of camp Additional Benefits
Transportation to camp may be available from select locations Additional paid opportunities may be available, including before care, after care, and specialty roles Staff events, training, and a supportive team environment Valuable leadership experience and professional skill development Qualifications
High school juniors or seniors, college students, or educators Strong swimming ability and comfort in an aquatic environment Reliable, responsible, and attentive individuals Ability to remain focused and calm in a safety‑critical role A genuine interest in working with children and being part of a team How To Apply
