Spanish Teacher
Jefferson Central School is seeking applicants for the Spanish Teacher position. Must hold appropriate NYS certification and be eligible for a competitive salary and benefits package, including NYS retirement.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, student‑centered instruction that develops language proficiency and cultural understanding.
Plan and implement lessons that build skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and confidence.
Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and performance‑based activities and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in world language instruction.
Organize cultural activities, support school events, and integrate technology to enhance learning.
Qualifications
Valid NYS teacher certification for Spanish.
Strong communication skills and cultural awareness.
Ability to inspire enthusiasm for Spanish language and culture.
