What Role You Will Play In Our Team

Looking for an individual to join our GHG Power team in the Permian.

What You Will Do

Champion elimination of life altering injuries and oversee contractor efforts to consistently deliver Safety in the Moment through effective execution of the Personnel Safety Management System (PSMS).

Act as onsite safety representative, give work authorizations when required, champion PSMS and XOM’s safety culture, and ensure team members understand what can lead to a life altering injury or significant process event.

Ensure proper safeguards are in place for construction work crew tasks and provide work authorizations.

Use stop work authority when observing unsafe actions and coach crews on possible hazards.

Ensure that established hold points, triggers, last‑minute risk assessments (LMRAs) and error‑prone situations are identified and followed.

Participate in Behavior Based Safety program (KPA/EV&V), actively engage with personnel on site and contribute meaningful observations to help shape action.

Initiate and lead After Action Reviews with contractors when needed.

Perform start‑work checks for location daily.

Ensure operations sites are maintained in accordance with WMS (Work Management System) processes and that all appropriate permits are in effect and approved prior to work being performed.

Attend and participate in Daily Work Coordination (DWC) meetings as determined by the foreman.

Ensure construction and maintenance work adheres to XOM’s quality standards, specifications and all applicable federal, state and local codes.

Install, troubleshoot and maintain plant/field primary distribution systems, substations, voltage regulators, reclosers, capacitor banks, transformer banks and secondary power disconnects while working safely around these electrical systems in various weather conditions.

Demonstrate knowledge of electrical theory and principles.

Demonstrate working knowledge of NEC, NESC, and OSHA regulations pertaining to overhead distribution work.

Troubleshoot medium and high voltage power circuits.

Keep all electrical power supplies and equipment operational.

Contribute to on‑call responsibilities as needed.

Ensure contractor adheres to their approved site‑specific safety plan.

Ensure critical lift plans are in place and appropriately approved.

Ensure all work and testing adheres to construction contractors’ approved ITP (Inspection & Test Plan) and witness and verify all testing such as voltage test and meg‑test.

Maintain constant visual inspection of all work activities in the area.

Ensure work location is maintained in an organized manner and is secured upon departure.

Monitor crew arrival and departure times along with equipment on location to verify and confirm electronic field tickets (EFTs) and invoices submitted by contractor for accuracy.

Verify certifications, training credentials, and qualifications of contractor personnel before allowing critical tasks to be performed.

Maintain 100% compliance and completion with all required XOM training.

Be on location when all high‑risk electrical work is being performed (90%+ of time on site).

About You – Skills and Qualifications

Ability to operate tools or other equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Experience using various other computer‑based programs (Permit Vision, EV&V, KPA Google Earth, OpenTicket).

Knowledge and ability to safely work on and around voltages ranging from 4 160 V to 24 940 V.

Knowledge and ability to identify utility line ownership.

Ability to coordinate, communicate and work with employees from other contract companies, crafts, or other departments to meet a common goal.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established company and regulatory procedures.

Willingness to work in a team environment.

Willingness to work in various locations, indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

Valid Lineman’s College Graduation Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.

5 years of experience in overhead utility construction and maintenance field.

Valid one of the following forms of electrical training:

New Mexico Journeyman’s Lineman license.

Department of Labor Journeyman Linemen training.

Texas Department of Labor Journeyman Lineman’s license.
