As a Parent Educator, you will provide supportive, home‑based services to families. You will use a proven program model to guide visits, complete assessments, help families create goals, and connect them with helpful community resources. Your work supports parents, strengthens skills, and promotes healthy child development.
Responsibilities
Provide supportive, family‑centered, home‑based services
Enroll families into the Parents as Teacher (PAT) program and help them create and follow service plans
Conduct regular home visits focused on goals, child development, and family needs
Complete developmental screenings and connect families to community resources
Document services and submit paperwork on time
Participate in team meetings, community events, and required trainings
Maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies
Schedule home visits based on family needs while managing weekly hours
Represent the agency professionally in the community
Collaborate effectively with other agencies and community partners
Work flexible hours when needed, including occasional evenings or weekends
Travel frequently within the community and visit families in their homes
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the physical demands of sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking, hearing and adequate vision up to 80% of the time.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Preferred
Associate’s Degree, Required
Experience
2 years’ experience working with parents and young children with a Bachelor’s Degree
5 years’ experience working with parents and young children with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent
Special Skills
Knowledge of child development, a range of child‑rearing practices and issues
Knowledge of community resources
Knowledge of appropriate use of screening materials
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good data management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Aptitude for learning new software programs and technology
Maintain confidentiality according to professional standards
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English/Spanish preferred
Ability to provide culturally relevant services
Value all people, their family culture, heritage, language, and beliefs
Licensure, Registration, Certification
First Aid/CPR certification required
Food Handlers Card required
Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider
Employment Is Conditional Upon
Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Wage Range $21.00 to $28.00 hourly, depending on level of education and experience.
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
