Job Title Manager In Training
Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. They possess product knowledge across all store departments, support store goals and initiatives, uphold store policies, and promote customer experience. In the Store Manager's absence, they assume supervisory control and are trained on all managerial responsibilities.
Hourly $9.00 – $11.70
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling store assets.
Collaborate on action plans to achieve departmental and store goals such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Act as responsible party for the entire store when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent.
Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure departmental profitability.
Direct staff to meet departmental responsibilities and standards.
Inform the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager of inventory movements and customer trends.
Maintain quality customer service standards.
Perform general administrative duties and be trained on Store Manager responsibilities.
Deliver outstanding customer service per the customer service manual, assisting customers upon entry and during peak periods.
Promote and sell Hibbett services and merchandise.
Uphold all Hibbett policies and procedures as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals.
Protect company assets by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, assigning tasks, and resolving issues per company policies and applicable law.
Qualifications
Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear or athletic apparel.
1–3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Capability to assist in team management and maintain store goals and profitability.
Self‑starter with initiative to tackle important tasks without prompting.
Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
Team‑player passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
