Snapshot Summary:
Novel Energy Construction is looking to hire an experienced licensed Journeyman. This is a full-time onsite position, the pay range is $55-$60 per hour. After a 60-day probationary period, employees will be eligible to enroll in benefits and accrue sick and vacation time based on hours worked. We are aiming to fill this role immediately.
This job requires the Journeyman to be licensed and will also require in-state travel to other project sites.
Core Focus:
The licensed Journeyman electrician performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems.
Requirements Essential Functions
Responsible for the electrical work on construction of DG solar PV systems or community solar garden systems
Provide and lead all electrical work associated with solar PV installation
Supervise and direct installers to complete all install processes and tasks
Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions
Inspect plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of installations
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
Provide and maintain personal hand tools
Use and maintain company issued tools
Work outdoors on solar installations year round
Climb ladders, work in attics, crawl spaces, on sloped roofs and similar locations
Perform panel upgrades and other electrical work when required
Follow OSHA safety regulations and provided safety training
Lift and carry tools, materials, and parts (up to 50lbs)
Provide on-the-job training to apprentice electricians
Verify all OSHA and NES safety policies and equipment are used correctly
Arrive punctually to work and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned
Be available for occasional overtime or emergency response
Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry standards

Work Environment Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently be on-site at the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions year-round. The noise level in the work environment may range from low to moderate. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
Physical Demands Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, 50lbs or less, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi‑limbed coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Travel Travel: Out-of-area and overnight travel is expected when need arises.
Required Education and Experience
Licensed Journeyman (can be with reciprocity) in the states that NES is building,
but may consider applicant with sufficient work history.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Advanced knowledge of safety construction, commissioning, and testing electrical systems
Combination of electrical training and solar PV construction field experience
Ability to manage, train, and supervise others
High school diploma
Demonstrated critical thinking, organization and planning, prioritization, and follow up skills
Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Proficiency with Procore, or other construction management software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Education and Experience
NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification
OSHA 30 certification
Fall protection training
Forklift operator experience
Mobile Elevated Work Platform
First aid certified
Competent in customer service and email correspondence
