Position Summary
The Youth Pastor provides spiritual leadership, pastoral care, strategic direction and team-oriented execution for middle school and high school students within a Spirit-filled, presence-driven church culture. This full-time role exists to raise up a new generation of passionate Jesus followers who are grounded in the Word of God and walk in the fullness of Holy Spirit’s power.
Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
Lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through Spirit-led teaching, prayer, worship, and discipleship.
Create environments where students can encounter the presence and power of the Holy Spirit
Teach biblical truth in an engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant manner
Model a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled lifestyle
Ministry Program
Plan, lead, and oversee weekly youth services, small groups, and discipleship gatherings
Develop and implement a clear discipleship pathway that promotes spiritual growth and leadership development
Organize and oversee youth events, outreaches, retreats, camps, and conferences
Encourage student participation in church-wide worship, service, and missions
Engage students in their environments and support their activities outside of the church – school sports, concerts, etc. Be involved in the lives of the students.
Volunteer & Team Development
Recruit, train, equip, and pastor youth leaders and volunteers
Build healthy ministry teams that reflect the culture, values, and vision of Legacy Chapel
Provide ongoing leadership development, coaching, and support for volunteers
Pastoral Care & Family Partnership
Provide pastoral care, prayer, and spiritual guidance to students
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and guardians
Partner with families in the discipleship and spiritual development of their students
Maintain clear and appropriate communication with parents regarding ministry vision, events, and student care
Church Leadership & Collaboration
Work closely with the Lead Pastor and church staff to ensure alignment with the overall vision and direction of Legacy Chapel
Participate in staff meetings, leadership development, and church-wide events
Assist with additional responsibilities, church initiatives, & special projects as directed by the Lead Pastor
Qualifications
A strong, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active, Spirit-filled life
Bachelor’s degree in student ministry strongly preferred. Ministry training certificate or other Bible School accepted, but successful ministry experience required.
Alignment with the doctrine, vision, mission, and values of Legacy Chapel
Multiple years’ experience leading and serving in a Spirit-filled / charismatic church context
Strong entrepreneurial, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and staff
Willingness, ability, and energy to work evenings, weekends, and attend church events as required
Personal Characteristics
Spirit-led, prayerful, emotionally consistent and healthy
Must be a fun personality who laughs hard and works even harder.
Integrity-driven with a heart for discipleship and excellence
Married - strongly preferred
Ministry & Leadership Skills
Proven ability to recruit, develop, and inspire volunteers.
Relational, approachable, and passionate about students in grades 6-12
Problem solving skills that always seek a win-win scenario
Teachable, flexible, available and aligned with the church in word, actions and attitude.
Technical, Organizational & Creative
Competence in office technologies (MS 365, Google suite, Click Up etc.) as well as worship service and production technologies, e.g. Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, etc.
Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Able to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to the dynamic needs of ministry.
Spiritually discerning and exceptional problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
Demonstrated experience creating engaging worship environments in a church or ministry setting.
Commitment to continued ministry development and leadership growth.
Flexible, creative, and forward-thinking in ministry approaches.
Team experience strongly preferred – high school or college athletic teams, missions teams, etc.
Success in This Role Looks Like
There will be succession - build a team who can plan and execute without you.
Numerical growth in the church as well as the youth teams and weekly gatherings of the youth ministry.
Develop a unique and relevant youth culture that students want to be a part of and hunger for God.
Clear, Spirit-led discipleship where all team leaders and students are growing and maturing in Christ.
Consistent stories of life transformation and engagement because of Legacy youth.
Standard Work Schedule: +40 hours per week. Office hours to include the following:
Sundays - 7:00am to 1:00pm
6 hours per week
Tuesday to Friday – 9:00am to 4:00pm 26 hours per week
Flex Hours – outside of office hours
8 hours per week
Church Events, Services, Meetings, and Activities – as directed by Lead Pastor
Monday and Saturdays – OFF
Supervisor: Lead Pastor
Employee Status: Salaried, Exempt
Salary Range: $55,000 to $85,000 per year

We will conduct additional interviews with staff and key volunteers to identify the final candidates. The top 2-3 candidates will be invited to a weekend visit.

We are seeking someone who is willing to grow personally and professionally. The ideal person does not need daily oversight and is efficient and effective in their time management to accomplish agreed on goals whether working independently or in a group. This person inspires students to passionately follow Jesus!
