Position Summary The OB Laborist is an employed physician whose job responsibilities are solely in the inpatient setting. Provides efficient, cost‑effective obstetrical care using evidence based medicine and best practices. Evaluates all Women’s Care patients in triage on Labor & Delivery or emergency department, admitting patients as needed. Manages, and delivers Women’s Care obstetrical patients. Assists with C‑sections and other surgeries. Rounds on hospitalized, antepartum, and post‑operative patients. Provides inpatient, emergency department consultations and midwife oversight/consults. May be involved in hospital safety/quality committees. Covers all Emergency Room call coverage for OB/GYN when on shift. The OB Hospitalist/Laborist will work 24‑hour shifts or 12‑hour shifts. The OB Laborist may also have other responsibilities, including educating other medical staff, establishing care protocols for labor and delivery programs and working on research projects.

Work Experience

Board Certified or Board eligible in Ob/Gyn

Licensed physician in California

Graduated from an accredited Medical School

Evidence of continuing education and self‑development to support license requirements.

Current California driver’s license.

Maintain proficiency with practice and hospital EMR systems.

Preferred

Three year’s work experience outside of residency training
