This position is responsible for maintaining the weight room and cardiovascular area, handling opening and closing procedures, cleaning equipment, supervising members and the fitness area, building and maintaining own clientele, and tracking and reporting client progress. Design fitness programs and perform fitness evaluations in accordance with ACSM guidelines. Responsibilities
Build and maintain a personal training business and client base. Perform fitness evaluations and prospect clients professionally. Complete all administrative duties: voucher sheets, physician clearance forms, health questionnaires in compliance with HIPAA. Track and report all personal training metrics. Monitor fitness floor areas: follow opening/closing procedures, maintain cleanliness, greet members, scan for unsafe situations, enforce rules, and offer assistance. Provide personal training and assess members, design and implement fitness programs per ACSM guidelines. Continue self‑education to expand knowledge of exercise physiology and business building. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in exercise-related field. Preferred: One year personal training experience. Required certification as a Personal Trainer through NSCA, ACSM, NASM, ACE, or Cooper Institute. Required Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Windows applications and related software. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical & Environmental Demands
Requires periodic lifting of 10–100 pounds and frequent movement of equipment. Exposure to hazardous medications or waste may occur. No routine exposure to blood or bodily fluids. No occupational risk for communicable diseases. Equal Opportunity Employer
