Position Summary The Security Officer II performs duties to provide protection for the staff, patients, visitors, other occupants, and the property of Titus Regional Medical Center. Duties are performed in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and the policies and procedures of TRMC.

Essential Functions
Performs regular security foot patrols inside and outside of the hospital, maintaining vigilance to ensure the safety and security of hospital facilities, patients, visitors, and staff.
Must have the ability to work well in the public and without direct supervision as well as effectively communicate with others.
Must possess a current Texas Driver's License in accordance with Texas law.
Must be able to perform considerable standing, walking, and climbing flights of stairs.
Must use written, verbal (auditory), and non‑verbal (visual) sources of information as well as verbal communication to perform work.
Properly utilizes and maintains all TRMC vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to prescribed safety standards.
Assists with any assigned duties including disaster calls, fire calls, lab transports, and bomb threats according to policy.
Conducts on‑scene investigations of incidents and accident reports including interviewing employees and witnesses.
Performs preventative maintenance as requested and needed.
Assists in the planning of the security program/activities.
Ensures that the required security functions are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Must be able to work varying rotational or assigned shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and weekdays.
Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
Transport’s patients in the security vehicle to other facilities.
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
One year of Security Officer II experience preferred.
Two years’ experience in Law Enforcement training, security‑related armed service, institutional security program, or honorable military service preferred.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws preferred.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Security Officer license with the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies preferred.
College degree in security or related field preferred.
