Cape Fear Community College will be holding a hiring event for full-time Environmental Technicians and full-time Floor Technicians on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wilmington (Downtown) Campus in Union Station, room 298 (Human Resources Conference Room).
Multiple Positions Available Applications are being accepted online, and we will be conducting interviews onsite.

Definition To perform routine building cleaning tasks; related work as required.
This is repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of simple building cleaning and maintenance duties. An employee in this class works under general supervision on routine recurring assignments, receiving specific instructions on each new or unusual assignment.
Qualifications
Knowledge of: Some knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment.
Ability To:
Use cleaning equipment and supplies economically and efficiently
Communicate clearly and respectfully within a group
Read and write
Understand and follow basic oral and written directions
Communicate concisely and respectfully, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
Maintain effective audio‑visual discrimination and perception needed for:
Making observations
Reading and writing
Communicating with others
Operating assigned equipment
Handling varied tasks simultaneously
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
Operating assigned equipment
Handling varied tasks simultaneously
Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds
Maintain mental capacity, which allows capability of:
Making sound decisions
Responding to questions
Demonstrating intellectual capabilities
Experience and Training Guidelines Minimum Education/Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
At least 6 months building cleaning experience
Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:
One or more years building cleaning experience
