Role Mission All IDEA teachers ensure that each student masters the academic and social skills needed to succeed in college, while embodying IDEA’s values. Teachers set ambitious goals, invest in students and families, create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess for mastery, track progress, analyze data, adjust instruction, and pursue excellence both individually and as part of the IDEA team.

What We Offer Compensation

The starting salary for teachers with 0 years of experience is $58,500. Eligible for additional stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500 to $4,000 each. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Other Benefits

Paid Family Leave: up to 8 weeks for the birth or adoption of a child, based on tenure and caregiver designation.

Tuition Reimbursement: up to 50% of qualifying degree programs, up to $5,250 annually.

Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions per year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and additional work‑life services at no cost.

Qualifications

High level of content‑area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution (required).

Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).

State certification preferred but not required.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of core academic subject and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.

Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Adaptability to diverse situations within the school environment.

Responsibilities

Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.

Master and deliver relevant content and grade‑level curriculum.

Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.

Use formal and informal assessments to track progress; adjust lesson plans and update the gradebook weekly.

Communicate student progress with students and families on a weekly basis.

Effectively use technology for communication and educational support.

Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus‑wide initiatives.

Help shape a school‑wide culture fostering a productive and enthusiastic learning environment.

Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.

Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.

Participate in weekly manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, school‑wide meetings, and before/after‑school duties.

Engage in summer and year‑long professional development.

Commit to a minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.

Additional responsibilities may include after‑school tutoring or Saturday school, depending on needs.
