Job Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first and last impression ambassador of the restaurant. They greet each guest with energy, enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor, provide a warm welcome and fond farewell, diplomatically handle the waitlist and special requests with a positive attitude, and offer guests all available options. They stay abreast of floor plan information, seating rotation, and accurately use guests’ names and information.
Responsibilities
Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner
Seat guests in a timely manner
Maintain knowledge of current menu offerings, specials, and promotions
Handle waitlist and special requests with a positive attitude
Offer guests all available seating options
Stay abreast of floor plan information and seating rotation
Accurately use guests’ names and information
Communicate effectively with the servers and kitchen staff
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
Qualifications
Must have excellent customer service skills, be friendly and outgoing
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitask, and work effectively under pressure
Ability to maintain a positive attitude even when under stress
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays
