This role ensures quality parts are being produced in a timely manner in the blow molding department. The Blow Molding Technician will work closely with the manufacturing engineering and productions teams to ensure success. About The Role We are seeking a

Blow Molding Technician

to join the Northern Tool + Equipment manufacturing team in Faribault, Minnesota. This role is essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality production of blow molded plastic components. You’ll be hands‑on with machinery, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement in our production process.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, start up, operate, and monitor blow molding machines to produce plastic parts that meet quality standards

Perform adjustments to equipment to maintain optimal performance

Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with drawing specifications

Troubleshoot and resolve machine or process issues to minimize downtime and scrap

Maintain accurate production and quality records

Assist with mold changes, machine cleaning, and preventive maintenance

Assist with material handling as needed

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals

Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus

1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or plastics processing preferred

Familiarity with blow molding equipment or other plastics machinery (injection molding, extrusion) is a strong advantage

Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments

Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting

Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends if required

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly

Standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods

Manual dexterity for handling tools, molds, and machine components

Good vision and focus for inspecting parts and reading gauges
