Primary Objective:
Assist the Pastry Chef and drive the day‑to‑day operations of the Pastry Kitchen.
Responsibilities and Job Duties
Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served.
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served.
Assist all areas of the kitchen when necessary.
Able to work every station in the kitchen with success and minimal supervision.
Create a great team environment, valuing the diversity of individual members.
Be passionately involved in the training and development of the department.
Understand and drive the agreed culinary concepts, goals, and food and beverage directions.
Be a leader and innovator in the industry.
Ensure assigned workstation is supplied with all needed products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
Use standardized recipes as a guide; set up and prepare items for banquets per prep lists and banquet event orders and all other duties as assigned.
Store all food in refrigerated boxes using proper containers and labels to protect against waste and spoilage.
Work varying schedules as required by the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.
Physical Demands
Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods.
Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (average of 8 hours).
Primarily in a controlled, temperate environment to include heat and cold.
Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
Special Skills Required
Attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Clear thinking, staying calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
Ability to work well under pressure to meet production schedules and timelines for guest orders.
Operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job functions.
Comprehend and follow recipes.
Expand and condense recipes.
Produce created and artistic items.
Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
Education / Experience Required
Experience in a 4-5 star hospitality environment.
Licenses or Certificates
CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
Food Handler’s Certificate required.
Salary Range $28.96 - $30.96 per hour
