Location and Hours
– Derwood, MD. 10 working months, day shift, full‑time.
Grade
– 15–16. Salary $23.61–$41.87 per hour.
Summary of Classification At the direction of the principal, the Paraeducator Level II supports students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) in general or specialized instructional settings. Responsibilities include facilitating student mastery of grade‑level or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards, managing behaviors that impact curriculum access, and providing instructional and classroom management support. The role may involve participation in off‑school learning activities and requires willingness to accommodate flexible scheduling and outside duty.
Physical Demands & Special Requirements Frequent bending, walking, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Flexible scheduling, potential overtime, and night work required. Must be able to accommodate change of location/program.

Education, Training, & Experience
Associate’s degree required (Bachelor’s preferred).
College coursework: minimum 9 credit hours in education-related subjects.
Preferred: 1 year of experience working with students in structured educational settings.
Alternative paths:
(a) 48 college credits & 2 years experience in structured setting
(b) two years experience in structured setting and qualifying ParaPro score (≥ 455)
(c) other combinations of eligibility.
No certificate or license required.
