Full-time benefits package | $17/HOUR
Responsibilities Maintain a high level of customer service while ensuring the efficient, productive, and professional operation of the front office. Responsibilities include:
Promptly greet and acknowledge patients.
Instruct patients in completing medical history and other forms.
Obtain accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information; ensure all documents are signed.
Identify and collect co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due balances.
Explain financial requirements and billing/insurance matters to patients.
Accurately complete and interpret insurance verification and benefits.
Notify staff of insurance coverage issues.
Scan all new or updated patient information into the computer.
Schedule follow-up appointments and verify coverage; obtain authorization if required.
Maintain knowledge of insurance plans accepted by the practice.
Maintain a secure and accurate cash drawer; balance daily and close batch.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Maintain a clean and organized front office workspace.
Education
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent working knowledge.
Skills
Excellent customer service and understanding of the company’s code of conduct and culture.
Effective communication with physicians, clinical staff, and the public.
Ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external customers.
Abilities
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Communicate with upset and frustrated patients while consistently providing excellent service; demonstrate empathy, concern, good listening skills, and compassion.
Physical and Mental Demands
Sitting and standing in a normal office environment.
Some bending and stretching.
Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
Organizational Requirements
Read and sign the company mission, vision, and values.
