Save Job

Senior Legal Technologist At BCLP, we’ve built our firm on the foundations of thinking differently. Curious, inquisitive and unbound by tradition, we’re building change within our sector and beyond.

It starts with our people, which is why we need a Senior Legal Technologist to join our team. This pivotal role exists at the intersection of knowledge management, legal AI enablement and practice technology.

In summary, you will be responsible for evaluating, developing and ensuring adoption of knowledge‑backed systems/processes and appropriate legal practice technology, with a strong focus on driving Legal AI transformation among lawyers.

Responsibilities

Knowledge‑backed systems and processes: You will help shape and execute a forward‑looking knowledge strategy that leverages AI and emerging technologies to enhance legal practice and client service. As part of this, you will: be a Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) for all knowledge‑backed systems, tools and processes in our firm; help curate and leverage legal knowledge and data in the firm; identify ways to augment and automate knowledge processes; deliver training to lawyers; and be a key liaison with our firm’s cohort of Knowledge Lawyers; assist in drafting responses to pitches/RFPs on knowledge/technology capabilities and help formulate requirements for bespoke client offerings.

Legal AI Enablement: You will play a prominent role in our firm’s newly formed taskforce for our “Legal Evolution in AI Program” (LEAP). As part of the taskforce, you will be directly involved (either as product owner, project manager, or SME advisor) on large‑scale legal AI product pilots and implementations. You will also have a hands‑on role in: preparing business cases, measuring delivery against KPIs, and evidencing return on investment (ROI); designing test methodology and comparison frameworks to help inform investment decisions; providing demos and training to lawyers and clients; participating in complex, multi‑stakeholder projects, managing scope, timeline, resourcing, risk mitigation, testing and reporting.

Change Management: A part of your role will be to encourage adoption of all appropriate practice technology and processes in line with agreed strategic direction and initiatives. You will also help provide ideas for troubleshooting obstacles to user engagement.

Data Reporting & Analytics: You will analyze and synthesize usage data across a number of Knowledge/AI platforms using PowerBI dashboards.

Risk/Regulatory/Compliance support: You will work with our firm’s Office of General Counsel on issues relating to knowledge, legal technology and AI enablement.

Line Management: This role includes line‑management of three Knowledge paralegals.

Skills and Experience Required

Excellent communicator, able to work with people of varying levels of seniority and technical experience and adept at translating complex information into clear, concise, and engaging content.

Sufficient knowledge of legal principles to be able to identify appropriate legal use cases; tailor lawyer interactions to different target audiences; classify knowledge assets appropriately by work type, document type, and/or legal concept.

Highly organized with good project management skills.

Strong analytical mindset — able to interpret usage data, feedback, and AI metrics to improve content and workflows.

Experience managing knowledge bases or structured content repositories and/or an understanding of taxonomy, metadata, and content governance frameworks.

Familiarity with AI tools, LLM‑based systems, or AI knowledge ingestion processes, particularly within a legal context.
