Painter – General Kinematics Vibrating Equipment
General Kinematics is the premier manufacturer of vibrating equipment for processing bulk materials, offering solutions from vibratory feeders to entire process systems. We are looking for a qualified Painter to join our team.
Job Description The Painter will be responsible for the verification, matching, and mixing of paint quantities for color‑matching purposes, efficient and safe application of paints, basecoats, enamels, primers, and sealers, and the ability to critique and solve paint‑related issues.
Responsibilities
Properly prepare areas to be painted, including cleaning, masking, sanding, buffing, and prepping as required.
Read work orders and determine the color and amount of paint required for jobs.
Mix paints, enamels and primers to match standardized and specified color requirements.
Isolate painted/unpainted areas (masking, taping doors, etc.).
Apply and verify proper application of seam seal to bodies and compartments for quality water sealing.
Apply a variety of coatings to obtain a high‑grade and decorative finish on working components.
Ensure required consistency and thickness of paint for spraying or brushing.
Correct mistakes such as smoothing rough spots, touch‑up painting, and repairing surface defects as necessary.
Maintain and repair all spray equipment.
Clean and maintain paint mixing room, air make‑up units, and paint booths.
Exercise extreme care when operating and moving large parts with company lifting systems.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum of one year of related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. continuously.
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Strong attention to detail.
