Mentors needed for Fall/Holiday Theatre Program for Homeless Children!
The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW), a non‑profit theater and community center, is looking for Volunteer Mentors to join its
Fall/Holiday Season
and work in a production team for its annual year‑end
Builders of the New World
theatre arts education program for children living in the NYC shelter system. The program culminates in a Creative Class and Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 11, where mentors will participate in and guide the children during the creative class.
In our 34th year, we are seeking professional, mature, and fully vaccinated adults to share their skills in a production team—organizing food, gifts, marketing, and other administrative and production tasks—and to mentor the children on Dec. 11.
Responsibilities:
Apply to be part of our volunteer and mentorship team by filling out this short application.
Attend a mandatory in‑person training with our Artistic Director, Thurman E. Scott, on Tuesday, December 10th, 6:00 –9:30 pm.
Join a BNW Program production team and offer flexible weekly support in Production, Event Planning, Marketing, Video, Fundraising, and Food/Gifts.
Bilingual Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to help translate English to Spanish for our multilingual group of children.
Qualifications:
Age 18 + (all volunteers must be adults).
Professional, mature, and fully vaccinated.
We welcome volunteers who are passionate about theater, committed to community service, and eager to support the growth and well‑being of homeless children.
