Overview
The City of Huber Heights, Ohio, located just minutes from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in close proximity of the Dayton International Airport, is seeking a full‑time Firefighter/Paramedic. Fire Division
The Fire Division is composed of 68 career Firefighter/Paramedics/EMT’s operating out of three stations and responds to over 8,000 calls for service annually. Interview Process
Prior to appointment, candidates must complete a background investigation, truth verification test, drug screen, and physical and psychological examinations. Interview week will begin January 12, 2026, at Fire Division Headquarters, 7008 Brandt Pike. Applicants will be ranked by interview scores. Minimum Requirements
At least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED equivalent Valid Ohio Driver’s License State of Ohio Level II Firefighter Certificate State of Ohio Paramedic Certificate Compensation and Benefits
Pending legislative approval, 2026 total compensation will exceed $99,000, not including overtime or holiday pay. Planned annual increases of 4% through 2028, one Equip‑Maintenance Officer (EMO) each month, and one floating EMO. Additional benefits include an annual holiday bonus of 96 hours, sick leave accrual, vacation up to 15 days (based on prior full‑time Ohio public service credit), employer‑paid life insurance, and 100% employer‑paid medical insurance, with generous HSA or HRA contributions.
