Summary
Assist the Press Operator in the setting up and operation of flexographic printing presses that prints designs up to ten colors on rolls of polyethylene film.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must help to ensure that the printed product being produced meets or exceeds our internal quality standards and our customer expectations. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.
Review specs such as: Work Order, Print Master, Mounter Proof and Samples
Transfer pumps to the correct new ink and reduce to specific startup viscosity
Label and cart all return ink
Clean pumps, lines, trays and doctor blade units with proper solvent
Obtain supplies (inks, cores, make-ready stock, cleaning materials, etc.) needed for setups
Keep rolls loaded onto the un-wind and taped up for splicing
Periodically add ink as needed
Assist Flowman in changing out pans
Performs preventive maintenance
Performs all end of the shift clean up
Performs other duties as assigned
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to read and interpret English language documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbook and procedure manuals
Must be able to speak and write in English effective when presenting information to supervisors and fellow employees
Required to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Required to read a tape measure
Essential Physical Demands
While performing the duties required of this position, employee is constantly required to stand for up to 12 hours, walk, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
May be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds; use assistance or proper equipment for over fifty (50) pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Starting pay is $16.50 per hour
Shift Availability, 3-4 days a week (overtime based on production needs)
Day Shift: 9am - 9pm
Night Shift: 9pm - 9am
Applicant must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
