Substitute Teacher – Central New Jersey
About the Role We inspire students, empower communities, and build your resume. You will receive 1:1 support, training opportunities, and career planning from a dedicated Scoot Education Consultant.
What You’ll Do
Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment and encourage student engagement throughout the day.
Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
Communicate clearly with school staff.
Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or college credits.
Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
State and federal background checks.
Passion for education and student-first mindset.
Empathetic nature, growth mindset, and drive to be your best.
Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
Previous experience in special education settings.
Bilingual and/or bilingual teaching experience (preferred).
